The conference will give Hawaii residents an in-depth look at the emerging field of regenerative medicine, considered by many health care professionals as one of the keys to dramatically improving health and wellness by replacing, engineering or regenerating human cells, tissues or organs to restore normal function.
The keynote address will be presented by Senator Dr. Josh Green at 3 p.m. Nov. 6. This session is open free of charge to the public.
Many thought leaders in the industry will share their insights on this relatively new field of medicine including: Lucia Fields of FutureHealth Alliance LLC, who will discuss her company’s successes in introducing regenerative health care to employers, self-insured companies and government agencies as an effective long-term answer to controlling health care costs. Her presentation is at 3 p.m., Nov. 7.
Also – similar to the popular reality show “Shark Tank” in which entrepreneurs pitch their ideas to self-made tycoons – local tech startup companies will pitch their technologies to investors at noon on Nov. 6 as part of the conference. This session is being coordinated by the Hawaii Technology Development Corporation and Sultan Ventures and sponsored by American Savings Bank. The top three companies will receive prize money. Tickets to this session are $45 and lunch is included.
