Free health screenings and demonstrations at ‘Healthy for the Holidays’ Downtown Health Fair
HONOLULU –Hawaii Medical Assurance Association (HMAA), one of the largest Preferred Provider Organizations (PPO) in Hawaii, is hosting its inaugural “Healthy for the Holidays” health fair in downtown Honolulu on Friday, Oct. 19.
The health fair will take place at Tamarind Park, Bishop Square, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. We invite the community to a fun-filled event to promote a culture of wellness. Participants will receive free giveaways (while supplies last) and health screenings that include Body Mass Index (BMI) readings. There will be live demonstrations by wellness vendors from noon to 1 p.m. Vendors will share their expertise and give advice on what it takes to live a healthy lifestyle, especially as the stresses of the holidays begin to creep up at the end of the year.
The focus of “Healthy for the Holidays” is to remind island residents that staying healthy is a year-round effort. The fair is an opportunity for HMAA to provide free up-to-date health screenings and share resources for healthy living.
Presenters and participants include Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii Young Professionals Program, American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association, Umeke Market, 808 Zumba, HI Town Fitness, YMCA and KUMU 94.7.
