MomsInHawaii.com Presents Special Discount for Performance of “Tasi’s Gift: The Tale of the Samoan Bowl”
HONOLULU – MomsInHawaii.com, a local social-media community, is inviting its members and their families to a performance of “Tasi’s Gift: The Tale of the Samoan Bowl,” on Saturday, December 3, at 4:30 p.m. at the Tenney Theatre, next to St. Andrew’s Cathedral.
The performance is the first in a series of events that MomsInHawaii.com is hosting in partnership with Honolulu Theatre for Youth (HTY). Up to 100 tickets are being offered with a special $3-off discount. The performance will include an audience autograph session with the actors, a MomsInHawaii.com group photo, and a drawing for families to win tickets to a future HTY production.

“Tasi’s Gift: The Tale of the Samoan Bowl” is a touching story of selfless giving that brings together Samoan song, dance and design, as young Tuala learns to carve a traditional bowl from her grandfather, master carver Tasi. With help from a few magical forest dwellers, Tuala creates a ceremonial bowl worthy of the new chief. As Tuala learns to carve she discovers that even the words and actions of a child can be a gift to the world and that she herself will play a part in passing on her cultural legacy.
