Communications Pacific Promotes Fuertes, Hires Lum

HONOLULU – Communications Pacific (CommPac) has promoted Nicole Fuertes to account supervisor and hired Andrea “Anj” Lum as assistant account executive.

“It is a pleasure to recognize Nicole’s string of exceptional successes on behalf of numerous clients and to welcome Anj to the CommPac team,” said Kitty Lagareta, CommPac CEO.

Fuertes joined CommPac as an account executive in 2008, bringing with her more than five years of public relations experience. She has since helped bring success to a variety of clients in the travel and tourism, hospitality, arts and culture, retail, construction and nonprofit industries. Previously, she served as assistant program coordinator and information specialist at the Hawaii National Guard Youth Challenge Academy, a program for at-risk teens. Earlier, she worked for McNeil Wilson Communications. Born and raised in Hawaii, Fuertes is a graduate of Boston University where she received her degree in communications with an emphasis in public relations.

Lum provides support to a number of CommPac clients in the areas of corporate communications, travel and tourism public relations, and digital and social media. Born and raised in Hawaii, she earned a degree in public communications, with a minor in marketing, from American University (Washington, D.C.). There, she served as editor-in-chief of American Literary (the campus literary magazine), director of the AU Ambassadors (the student branch of the Admissions Office) and a student mentor for the Office of Multicultural Affairs. Lum also served as a long-term intern for The Case Foundation, where she worked on national marketing and communications campaigns that introduce nonprofits to new technologies. She also interned for KHON-2 News.
