Laulani Village Shopping Center in Ewa Breaks Ground Today
HONOLULU – Property Development Centers (PDC) held a blessing and groundbreaking ceremony today for Laulani Village Shopping Center, the largest retail project development in Ewa history.
The new center sits on the corner of Fort Weaver Road and Keaunui Drive, across from the Hawaii Prince Golf Club. The 20-acre Laulani Village Shopping Center will include over 218,000 square feet of retail space. Upon full build out, the shopping center is anticipated to create 500 jobs.
“We’re excited to break ground on the Laulani Village Shopping Center today and begin work on this project,” said David Zylstra, chief operating officer of Property Development Centers. “This retail development will provide the Ewa community with an increase in jobs and a close, centralized option for their retail needs.”
A total of 70 retailers and service providers, including home improvement, hardware, apparel, lifestyle and restaurants are expected to populate the shopping center. A two-story office building will provide additional space for doctors, dentists, lawyers, accountants and other professionals.
Charles Pankow Builders, Ltd., which has been in business in Hawaii for over 45 years, has been selected as the general contractor. “We are honored to be a part of this exciting effort,” said Dick Walterhouse, president of Charles Pankow Builders, Ltd.
Construction on the Laulani Village Shopping Center is expected to last 12 months. To learn more about Laulani Village Shopping Center, visit www.laulanivillage.com.
