Safeway Hawaii Supports Aloha Festivals

HONOLULU – For the first time, Safeway customers and the general public can now purchase a 2011 Aloha Festivals ribbon for $5 at checkout stands or customer service desks at all Safeway locations on O‘ahu. All proceeds from ribbon sales will go to support Hawai‘i’s longest-running cultural celebration and premier kama‘aina festival.

“Safeway Hawaii is proud to support the Aloha Festivals and their fun and free events throughout the month of September,” said George Glukfeld, Safeway Hawaii district manager. “We hope that by joining the Aloha Festivals in this partnership, our stores will make buying ribbons easy and convenient for locals and visitors alike.”

Those who purchase a ribbon will have the chance to enter a sweepstakes for a Hawaiian Airlines round trip for two in coach class to Las Vegas or Manila and other fabulous prizes. In addition, Aloha Festivals has partnered with Oʻahu hotels and businesses to give discounts to customers who show their support by wearing their 2011 ribbon.
