First Insurance Company Helping Hawaii Residents Save on Gas and Their Auto Insurance
Wednesday, May 11, 2011
HONOLULU – To offset rising gas prices and promote its new, lower auto insurance rates, First Insurance Company of Hawaii will be hosting one more gas sale on Saturday, May 14 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Makiki 76 station on the corner of Piikoi and South King streets. First Insurance, which is celebrating 100 years in Hawaii this year, held a similar promotion last month.
During the station “takeover,” First Insurance, in partnership with MidPac Petroleum, will dramatically lower the price of all grades of gas, including diesel, at the Makiki 76 location. Residents are invited to follow First Insurance on Twitter (@FirstInsHI) and Facebook (www.facebook.com/FirstInsHI) for up-to-the-minute information about the event, including the “secret” price of gas to be revealed the morning of May 14.
Those who come to the Makiki 76 on May 14 can also enter a special sweepstakes to win free gas for one year. One lucky winner will receive $2,400 worth of gas for use at any 76 station in Hawaii. Drivers must come to the event between 1 and 3 p.m. to enter.
Other event highlights on May 14 include free window washes courtesy of First Insurance’s assistant vice presidents, vintage street circus performances, two classic cars on site for car aficionados with photo-taking opportunities, and the opportunity to learn more about First Insurance’s new First Auto Program.
Launched in March, the company’s First Auto Program and new, lower rates can save customers hundreds of dollars on their auto insurance. To encourage more Hawaii residents to get a quote, First Insurance has extended its $20 gas gift card promotion through June 5. New customers who get a free personal auto quote from First Insurance receive a $20 gas gift card good at any 76 location in Hawaii. “In today’s economic environment, customers are being more discerning about how they spend their money and are looking for ways to save. That’s why many Hawaii residents have already switched to First for their auto insurance,” said Allen Uyeda, president and CEO of First Insurance. “By providing savings at the gas pump, we hope to convince even more residents to get a free auto insurance quote from First.”
