HONOLULU – Roger Peters, executive vice president and general manager of dck pacific construction, LLC, a dck worldwide company, has joined the board of Enterprise Honolulu. His appointment is for three years.

Enterprise Honolulu, the Oahu Economic Development Board, supports a diversified economy by being a leading agent in the growth, retention and recruitment of businesses that offer quality jobs in Hawaii. The organization is also actively involved in infrastructure, planning and workforce development to build the foundation for a globally competitive and prosperous economy.

“As we seek to build a healthier Hawaii, it is crucial to continue to expand and connect the voices and discussions,” said Pono Shim, president and CEO of Enterprise Honolulu. “Roger brings more than a solid voice in Hawaii’s construction industry. He brings a special background in mediation and arbitration. That speaks volumes about the quality of person he is and the complement of board members we are so very fortunate to have.”

Peters has been with the parent company of dck pacific construction since 1976 and currently oversees all construction operations, administration, marketing, estimating, safety, government relations and business development. Upon his arrival to Hawaii in September of 2008 and under his leadership, dck pacific successfully completed several major projects totaling over $550 million, including the Hawaii Regional Security Operations Center at the U.S. Naval Computer and Telecommunications Area Master Station, Grand Waikikian timeshare owned by Hilton Grand Vacations Club, and Target stores in Kapolei and Kona. During his tenure, dck pacific was awarded a $73.4 million maintenance and cargo facility for the Department of Transportation at Honolulu International Airport. The company was also awarded and successfully completed $50 million in renovations at the Kauai Marriott and the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort and Spa.

dck pacific has also just been awarded a $130 million design-build project to build four separate projects under one contract for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Honolulu District, at Schofield Barracks. As part of the Army’s Grow the Army program and known as the South Range project, Peters said it is the largest contract awarded to date by the Honolulu District.

“I feel both honored and humbled to be nominated and then selected as a member of this prestigious Board of Directors and to become a part of such a dynamic organization that can make a positive impact on the economic growth of Hawaii,” Peters said.
