Friday, March 25, 2011
HONOLULU – Hawaii Medical Assurance Association (HMAA), the second-largest preferred provider organization (PPO) in Hawaii, and Ceridian Corporation, a leading global business services company, today signed a joint services agreement that will allow the cross-marketing of services to their respective customers and members.
The new affiliation, which will take effect on Friday, April 1, 2011, will make a unique set of HMAA and Ceridian services and products available to the companies’ clients. In Hawaii, Ceridian serves more than 3,000 employers representing 220,000 employees, while HMAA serves more than 3,450 employers with more than 42,000 members.
“HMAA is always looking for innovative ways to add value and better serve the needs of our members, especially in challenging economic times like these,” said John Henry Felix, chairman, president and CEO of HMAA. “Our affiliation with Ceridian provides our members with easy access to value-added services that will help them save time and money. It’s an example of how we seek to customize our products and services to meet member and customer needs, to which we are highly sensitive and which we are now better than ever equipped to address.”
“We take pride in our work to help companies maximize the power of their people, lower their costs and focus on what they do best,” said Calvin Hutton, general manager of Ceridian Hawaii. “We are excited about having the opportunity to work with HMAA and the businesses they serve.”
The joint services agreement helps advance HMAA Founder Arnold Baptiste Sr.’s vision of providing a highly valuable, diverse selection of business products and services tailored to the needs of HMAA’s growing member base of small, medium and large companies. With more than 25 years of related experience, Reg Baker, CPA, PFS, will serve as coordinator to develop and provide a full range of business products and services that have been identified through HMAA’s outreach efforts to members. HMAA considers the success of its members essential to its own success.
