Celebrating its 38th year in 2017, the Pan-Pacific Festival is a three-day festival showcasing nearly 100 different performance groups and organizations from around the world and Hawai‘i, and attracts an audience of approximately 100,000 annually, 50 percent of whom are visitors from abroad.

The celebration begins with the Performing Arts Showcases, featuring cultural performances and demonstrations, and continues with a festive block party in Waikīkī. The Pan-Pacific Ho‘olaule‘a features multiple stages along Kalākaua Avenue filled with cultural performances; live entertainment by local and international groups; a wide range of Island crafters and vendors selling unique items; and food booths offering delicious culinary creations. Attendees also will have a chance to win roundtrip tickets for two to Japan. Visit the Kintetsu booth at the Ho‘olaule‘a to complete an entry form.

This year’s event hosts the 2nd Annual Street Dance Festival in Hawai‘i. This dance exhibition will showcase dance moves from some of Japan and Hawai‘i’s hottest amateur dance troupes. Making a special appearance is Kento Mori, one of the most successful choreographers and professional dancers in the world, who will provide the performers with top dance tips. He’s worked with various artists like Madonna, Usher, NE-YO, Ciara and Chaka Khan.

The 17th Annual Pan-Pacific Hula Festival is held every evening throughout the festival weekend at the revered Kūhiō Beach Hula Mound, featuring hula hālau (schools) from Japan as well as performances by local hula hālau.

All events are free and open to the public.
