COMMUNICATIONS PACIFIC PROMOTES SHERRI RIGG AND FRANCESCA WEEMS; HIRES MARI GALIHER

HONOLULU – Communications Pacific (CommPac) today announced two staff promotions and one new hire.

Sherri Rigg has been promoted from director to vice president. Her responsibilities include providing strategic and media relations counsel, executive positioning, event planning, and crisis and issues management for a variety of CommPac’s clients including Hawaii’s largest quick-service restaurant. She has extensive experience in the retail, tourism and hospitality industries, having managed the grand openings of more than 90 store locations and has helped launch Starbucks, Jamba Juice and P.F. Chang’s in the Hawaii market. Rigg graduated from Pepperdine University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications, specializing in public relations. 

Francesca Weems, who joined CommPac after an extensive career in sports broadcasting, has been promoted from account executive to senior account executive and is the lead media liaison for Hawaii’s largest quick-service restaurant. The Hawaii Island native earned her undergraduate and graduate degrees in mass communications and education from the University of California, Berkeley, where she competed as a member of the track and field team. She was a sports anchor/reporter at Hawaii News Now and Mississippi News Now and also worked at ESPN, TBS/TNT, Comcast SportsNet Bay Area, Comcast Hometown Network and several San Francisco Bay Area stations.

Mari Galiher has joined the CommPac team as an account executive and social media strategist. She holds both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in communications from the University of Hawaii (UH) at Manoa, has worked at the UH Foundation, and has created social media content for the National Kidney Foundation of Hawaii, the University Cancer Center, and the E Noa Corporation. Galiher was a marketing intern and investigator for Galiher DeRobertis Ono, now known as Galiher DeRobertis Waxman. At CommPac she is responsible for creating and managing the social media platforms for many of the firm’s major clients.
